4 Key Factors that Make a Human Connection Speaking Event Memorable

Human connection can mean many things, but today on the blog, we want to highlight how you, as a professional and/or organization, can create a human connection speaking event that truly makes a difference. If you or someone you know has been tasked with finding a keynote speaker or engaging entertainment for a keynote event, you’re in the right place. Our talented roster of unique speakers all present their own flavor of human connection to help your event be impactful and memorable.

But let’s back it up a little bit, and go over a few NEEDS that you should consider when planning a human connection speaking event. First and foremost…

What is a human connection event?

A human connection event can be any type of gathering designed to help foster authentic relationships, empathy, and meaningful interaction. Human connection events help to encourage emotional sharing, vulnerability, and building new communities. A good human connection speaker will be able to keynote your event, lead the audience through a multitude of fun examples, stories, and activities to help people feel heard and understood.

What do you need to make a human connection event memorable?

A Qualified Human Connection Speaker

Of course, you won’t get too far with a speaking event without a speaker! Finding a qualified human connection speaker comes down to your budget. You probably know that speakers aren’t exactly cheap, and the more notoriety someone has, the more expensive they are. That doesn’t mean you need to spend 100k on a celebrity just for name recognition, though!

As you now know, some professional speakers dedicate their lives to helping others connect, and that’s the type of speaker you should seek out. Someone whose sole purpose and mission is to help others connect.

Quality A/V & Sound System

Audio and visuals must be on point! Your venue should be able to answer any questions about this, but if you do not have quality audio and visuals, your speaking event is not going to go too well for anyone. Your event should certainly feature high-quality, reliable audio, a clear visual display, and a nice presentation remote. A wireless microphone, either a lavalier or over-the-ear headset, is standard, which allows the speaker to move freely and use their hands. A technician with experience should be manning the digital mixer to ensure all levels are of quality and prevent feedback.

You must also consider the visual aspect. Some keynotes have engaging visual presentations to go along with their speeches. A confidence monitor can also provide a speaker with some backup, featuring notes and slides without needing to turn their back to the audience. Lastly, the internet!!! Make sure everything is either saved offline, or you have a dedicated, hardwirsed interned connection. Quality, professional lighting also makes a huge difference in making a speaking event feel like something worth remembering.

Humans!

So you’ve got your speaker, you’ve got your venue & tech, now it’s time to party! Well, so long as you have some party-goers! We work with organizations and events of all different sizes. Human connection events can be found in various shapes and sizes. We have seen huge conferences with thousands of strangers who’ve never met each other, and we’ve seen small teams who’ve known each other for decades.

The best part about what we do is it doesn’t matter the size of the crowd! Our human connection thought leaders are experienced working with smaller groups, medium-sized groups, and large groups. The bottom line is, a human connection event is nothing without the humans!

An Open Mind.

An open mind is the last factor needed for a great human connection event. We understand that the concept of human connection may seem simple. That is just it. We don’t disagree that it is simple. The solution is simple, usually; it is the problems that are complex. That is exactly why we do what we do.

We see individuals, professionals, and organizations struggle with various challenges depending on their background, industry, or niche. Paying attention to, working at, and growing at connecting is at the forefront of almost every challenge we see in life. By dedicating attention, time, thought, and resources to human connection, you offer up anyone associated with the event an opportunity to grow as a human being and thus, a professional (insert occupation here). By having an open mind, that’s the first step to being better at connecting!

We hope this helps someone out there who may be planning a keynote speaking event or another professional development program. We are aiming to be the home base for all things human connection, with Brian Miller, our originator, being the first Human Connection Speaker of his kind! Join the human connection revolution!
